We are currently looking for a suitable doctoral candidate (TV-L E13 65%) for the following project:

"A multicenter study to increase drug safety for systemic antifungal drugs in hematology/oncology"

Hematological and oncological patients with a deprived immune system experience high risk of developing systemic invasive fungal infections. The optimal treatment of these patients with antifungal drugs faces several limitations and challenges. Patient specific factors (such as organ (dys)function and genotypes for drug metabolizing enzymes, etc.) need to be considered to avoid reduced drug effectiveness or adverse drug events. Moreover, drug-drug interactions have to be taken into account when given in combination with other drugs. To increase the drug safety for patients with hematological and oncological malignancies, the impact of different pharmaceutical interventions on drug related problems as well as the effect of precision medicine as part of the pharmaceutical drug monitoring shall be investigated in an interprofessional multicentre study in three hospitals in Munich. As a doctoral student, you will be responsible for the identification and classification of drug related problems as well as for the data acquisition and analysis. You will further assist the ward pharmacists on the different study sites in the clinical implementation of the study.
