Doctoral Programm Clinical Pharmacy

Klinische Pharmazie

Welcome at the application portal for the Doctoral Programm Clinical Pharmacy

The doctoral program Clinical Pharmacy is an interdisciplinary institution at the university hospital of LMU Munich. Research projects of this program intend to improve safety in drug therapy and aim to increase patient safety for various medical conditions.

We are currently looking for a suitable candidate for the following project:

Antibiotic Stewardship (ABS) in Pediatrics
Guidelines support ABS-programs to ensure rational antibiotic therapy in hospital. In order to optimize antibiotic use in our university’s children’s hospital we started our ABS-Service provided by a multidisciplinary team (infectiologist, pharmacist) in 2012. Infectious disease ward rounds with the multidisciplinary team have been taking place regularly since 2014 to discuss selection and dosing of antibiotics and to provide individualized antibiotic therapy by therapeutic drug monitoring (TDM) where applicable. In addition we started to establish guidelines concerning antibiotic selection and dosage for our hospital. The doctoral work should develop our ongoing projects further and expand this service to other children’s hospitals in order to obtain important data concerning antibiotic usage in different settings and clinical facts concerning length of stay or declined resistence rates.

The selection of the candidates will be done by evaluating the given data including all required documents and by an interview for all suitable applicants.

The criteria for the selection are the ability and willingness to work on clinical-pharmaceutical questions.

All suitable candidates have to be proficient in German and English.

All applicants have to have passed their pharmacy studies with at least the grade "good" (2,5).

Selected candidates who can't be offered a position, will be supported to apply for a scholarship.
