Welcome to the online application tool for the DFG-Research Training Group Globalization and Literature. Representations, Transformations, Interventions.

Before applying, please note the following important points:

  • Make yourself familiar with the research and study program. Your research proposal should exhibit explicit connections with the research profile of the group.

  • Teaching and discussions will be bilingual. Applicants must therefore have an adequate comprehension level of English and German, and speak at least one of these languages fluently. You will be asked to provide proof for your proficiency in both of these languages.

  • When entering your data please remember to click on the "Save" button.

  • Tab Reference Letters: Once you enter your referee data and click on "Save", an automatic email is sent to the indicated referee and no further changes are possible. If you want to change your referee data (e.g. indicating a different referee or entering a different email address), you will have to contact the coordination office. We highly recommend contacting your referees in advance and ensuring the accuracy of their contact information.

  • No changes are possible after the submission of your application.

  • Incomplete, incorrect or belated applications will not be taken into consideration.

The deadline for submitting your application was October 31 2017, 11:59pm (UTC+1).

Be sure to have all the required documents for your application:

  • outline of the research project (3,000 to 4,000 words)

  • CV, including a detailed description of your academic career (no pre-formated CV, e.g. Europass)

  • transcripts of school and university diplomas (B.A., M.A.)

  • letters of recommendation from two faculty members that give information on your qualifications and academic potential

  • a sample chapter of your MA thesis (ca. 4,000 words)

  • list of publications (if applicable)
